White shoe care rules

Correct and high-quality care of any footwear, including light-colored ones, is, first of all, cleaning. Before cleaning white leather, suede, fabric or nubuck using traditional methods, it is necessary to assess the condition and characteristics of the material, as well as to choose the right products. The procedure for handling capricious products is not complicated, but it does not forgive haste and ignorance of specific moments. We must not forget about such important manipulations as protecting the surface from negative external conditions, conditioning the raw material in order to maintain or restore its original appearance.
The care of white products begins from the moment of their purchase. It is recommended to immediately purchase specialized professional products, especially if there is no experience with natural preparations yet. Before putting new shoes into operation, they must be treated with wax (in the case of leather) or spray (suede and nubuck). Special impregnations have been developed for fabric products. Regardless of the type of material, the removal of contaminants should be carried out as soon as they appear, and not planned, having collected a sufficient number of stains.

To properly care for products made of various materials, the following rules must be observed: Items made of fabric can be soaked in a solution of warm water and liquid soap or shampoo. Sponges and toothbrushes are used for intensive cleaning. It is imperative to carry out several rinsing steps in order to completely rinse the product out of the material. Drying is best done in the fresh air, after having filled the products with paper. Rubber shoes will regain their original appearance if you first thoroughly soap the surface of the material with a sponge, and then rinse off the foam with cool water. It is necessary to rinse several times, otherwise a plaque will remain on the raw material. Specific tools have been developed for white suede. Regular maintenance and removal of surface contamination involves the use of rubber brushes. Stubborn stains will give in with an eraser or profile stain removers. Scuffs and scratches, which are especially visible against a light background, can be removed with short, hard bristle brushes or rubbed with a dull knife. You need to take care of nubuck based on the recommendations for suede, only the tools and detergents will be slightly different. The most troublesome thing is the care of leather shoes. It consists of regularly cleaning, polishing and conditioning products. With the systematic wearing of accessories, these manipulations have to be carried out very often. Profile and folk remedies can come in handy here.
After cleaning, it is necessary to apply an appropriate agent to the treated surface, which will take care of the objects during their use. Such products can only be reapplied after the next cleaning. If you simply apply the preparations in layers, the products will be covered with a dense bloom, which will lead to deformation of the material and its deterioration.

For cleaning, the use of industrial and natural products is allowed. In the first case, a quick effect is provided with a minimum of energy costs, in the second - the efficiency and safety of the approach. In addition, shoes should be polished at least once a month and the material should be conditioned a little less often.

Polishing white leather looks like this: First, choose the best product. The wax products spread over the leather surface to provide protection for the material. Liquids also remain in the upper layers of the material, but are easier to apply. Creams and pastes not only protect raw materials, but also restore their structure. Apply a little of the composition to a small area, making sure that the color of the product matches the background. Then we distribute the mass over the entire surface of the product in a circular motion using a soft sponge or lint-free napkin. Conditioning allows you to care for the skin, preventing the formation of cracks, scuffs and scratches. It must be used in the same way as the polish - applied in an even layer over the entire surface, after which it is recommended to rub the object with a soft cloth.

If professional remedies are over or simply do not inspire confidence, you can use folk approaches based on natural products. With the right approach, they guarantee no less quality and complete care. With white toothpaste and a toothbrush, you can wipe away dirt from any type of surface. It is not worth replacing the composition with powder. Even such a soft abrasive can damage the product. Petroleum jelly is considered one of the most effective white leather cleaners. It must be rubbed into the surface of the material with a lint-free cloth, making circular movements, then wiped with a clean cloth. In extreme cases, it is allowed to use white furniture polish. But this is a one-time remedy, which is not recommended to be abused. Olive oil can be used to gently cleanse white skin and restore its elasticity. We rub a small amount of the product into the material and polish the surface. Lemon juice removes stubborn stains from fabric, suede or leather. It must be mixed in equal proportions with tartar, applied locally to the dirt and removed after a few hours. In case of a change in the color of the white surface, the appearance of an incomprehensible plaque or streaks, or deformation of objects, it is better to contact a specialist. Any independent manipulation can only worsen the situation.
